Hu Kitchen: This will become your spot if you’re on a Paleo Diet because the options are actually endless. They pride themselves on being able to offer delicious, veggie-based, unprocessed food. Although a lot of it is veggie-based, they have a wide variety of meats, juices, and smoothies as well. Whatever you might be craving, chances are they will have a super healthy version of it (even paleo chicken tenders). The environment is fast-casual, so good for the nights you want to grab something on your way home from a workout.
Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit: Sometimes after a great workout you just want to cool off right away. That’s when we go to Chloe’s for some soft serve, but this is not your typical soft serve. Chloe’s is fat free, dairy free, AND gluten free. They have a Flatiron location which is super convenient to all our favorite workout studios. If you’re not in the mood for ice cream, they have killer smoothies, acai bowls, and MATCHA waffles too (say what?).
Springbone Kitchen: Springbone is a fast-casual new kid on the block that has quickly become our favorite. It stands out because their core product is bone broth, which to our surprise has tremendous health benefits. Beyond broth, their menu is made up almost entirely of organic vegetables, fruits and 100% free-range/grass-fed meats. We love to stop in for some coffee, egg, and avocado toast for breakfast, or zucchini spaghetti for dinner. Even their vegan ice cream is to die for.
Pure Green: Pure Green is our favorite juice and smoothie spot because they understand the needs of busy NYers–by offering energizing and nutritious options that actually taste good. We used to think green based smoothies/juices were hard to get down, but PG proved us wrong. Now we’ve become addicted to their “Pure Green” and “Mocha Cold Brew” smoothies in the morning or after a workout to sustain our much needed energy throughout the day.
Beyond Sushi: Ever had Vegan sushi? Neither did we until we discovered Beyond Sushi. They fuse unconventional pairings of fruit and vegetables with whole grains to create sushi rolls, rice salads, healthy sweets, and even hand-pressed juices. Their combinations are always so colorful and pretty you won’t believe they are actually edible. It’s located conveniently near union square and they also deliver.
Souen: Souen is an organic macrobiotic restaurant. So if you’re looking for a guilt-free, feel-good ramen, Souen is the spot. You’ll find a wide variety of vegetables (like squash and watercress) that you don’t find in typical ramen. Their also known for their “Macro Plate” which consists of balanced foods like grains and vegetables, locally grown and in season. It’s a good no frills place to bring your vegetarian/vegan friend.
